Last Saturday we had another weekend trip, this time outside of Southern Moravia, Třebíč, the town located in the Vysočina Region. There is direct train from Brno, which takes 1 or 1 and half hour.
Town is famous with places such as Painted House (Malovaný dům), St. Procopius Basilica, Chateau Trebic, Masaryk's Viewpoint and Jewish Quarter.
After taking off from train we took a walk to the center, Karlovo náměstí. The Painted House is located at the end corner of the square. It looks really beautiful in real, as it on pictures.
From that corner we went up to the City Tower (Městská věž), where we witnessed first wedding. There is entrance from right side. Entrance cost 30 kč for adults, view from town is amazing. Especially view of the Basilica.
After tower, we had very tasty coffee in the We Love Coffee, which is located right in the corner of the tower.
In order reach the Basilica, we had to cross main bridge on Jihlava river. View is remarkable; very neat, historic and clean surrounding.
We reached the Basilica, but we couldn't explore all interior. Why? Because we witnessed second wedding. So we head to rear side, garden. But guess what, there we witnessed third wedding. So, we explored small garden (the one which we can see from the tower), where there are variety of plant for medical purpose and then we headed back to the train station. We chose narrow streets as path and then we went on the left side of river. By the way, before reaching river side, we witnessed fourth wedding. River side led us to another bridge (only pedestrians and bicycle). This bridge connected to Masaryk's Viewpoint - good place for photo.
Eventually we reached station and our trip is ended. It was quick trip, about 5 hours total. But we really enjoyed it.
Also, ticket for one adult costs 75 kč (Brno - Třebíč), but we payed only half of total train travel expenses, as I got some points from loyalty in ČD application. More you travel, more you get points.
