Pay for waste and don't waste money

Ahoj Everybody,

Today I would like to briefly explain you how to pay for WASTE TAX and save money by buying yearly public transportation ticket.

Paying WASTE TAX is obligation if you resident or even temporary resident in Brno city. You have to pay it in all cases. So, starting 2017 Brno city passed new program, which basically refunds you CZK 1,425, 30% of annual public transportation ticket price (100+101 zones), if you pay WASTE TAX. As I mentioned you have to pay WASTE TAX anyway. But you may not buy annual public transportation ticket. This program basically for encouraging residents to pay waste tax in time and to use public transportation more and more. At the end I see it as win win situation. 

Annual ticket for public transportation in 100+101 zones costs 4750 CZK. In compare with monthly purchase you already can save 1860 CZK [(12*550)-4750=1850]

Basic waste tax for annual payment is 670 CZK and after signing for grant program you get refunded 1425 CZK. All in all, you save 3275 CZK. Which I consider “NOT BAD AT ALL”

First, you have to register in www.brnoid.cz webpage and register. There will be no email verification, which is I see as lack of security and I am planning to contact administration of website. As soon as you register it automatically drops you to Your Account page. Scroll down and fill mandatory items, they all are self explanatory. After SAVING basic data you will see Unverified signs, which you will have to go Brno Public Transport Authority main office and verified it with your ID. 

NOTE: you can use any plastic payment card as carrier, when inspector controls tickets. So you can verify Basic data and plastic card same time. This is obvious order to do it actually. It is very easy and self explanatory how to add card, just go to link https://www.brnoid.cz/en/my-tokens  

After verification, pay for waste tax. Then purchase annual ticket by linking it to plastic card (if you added as carrier). Once you done all this, you will see “Request for grant program” in My Tickets page, under ticket overview table. Steps very easy and well written. You can put any bank account number, so they can refund it. You will get several email verifications and just wait for refund, it might take up to 60 days.
