New Generation Museum
Ahoj everybody. I have not posted anything for long time already. So, here is my recommendation for your next trip; New Generation Museum in Žďár nad Sázavou city.
Like many other places, I discovered Žďár nad Sázavou from Google Maps and I noticed nice landscapes. City is mostly famous for Pilgrimage Church of Saint John of Nepomuk, which is listed under UNESCO World Heritage site. Just check photos on internet, you will see how it is beautiful indeed.
But I want to talk about the New Generation Museum, as I named the post. Firstly, I have to say that I am "museum lover" and this museum IS amazing! The single most important part of museum the way of presentation and story telling; you will have small audio device and headphones (various languages are available) and go thru each part - watch and listen. As you already figured (if you checked links) that this city famous with pilgrimage, means there is deep religions history, so parts which I am talking is about history of city, church and religious history of Bohemia and Morava in general. I am just sure that if you history fan and story listener, you will love it!
Museum has very nice looking cafe with terrace and gift shop, which hard to resist.
Well, you can travel to the city with train (ČD) and their public transport (buses), which runs every 1 hour in the city. But you can also walk from train station to church and museum (min 30 mins).
Also, Google Maps has no bus station points, but Mapy.cz has. And city has very nice map of transportation, just click here.
