Ahoj Everybody,
Last days were hot, despite sudden rains, so we were looking for short trip. And closest place to visit was Chateu Bučovice. At least in our JMK travel map.
There is S6 train, departure at 08:12 from Brno main station and arrives at 09:04. It is maximum 10 min walk from station to the castle. But (on Saturdays) ticket office opens at 09:50 and first tour, State Rooms, starts at 10:00. Mean while you can take a walk in the garden, behind the castle or just sit near fountain and take some photos.
The tour will take maximum 45 minutes. In our case there were total 4 visitors, so it even took 30 minutes. Best part of State Rooms tour is paintings on the ceilings. They are amazing and each has own story. You can take a look them in official web site. We loved room, where there is paintings of rabbits, which rules the world. They hunt people, they fight dogs and etc.
We also took The Moravian Aristocrat in the Labyrinth of the World tour, which is guide free and more interactive.
As I said there was few visitors, so tours were fast. We even were able to take 11:00 back train. But if you don't rush there is nice cafe inside castle garden. View is amazing, especially when fountain is up and running.
There is no special tips and recommendation, as it is fast trip. But I highly recommend to visit the castle. You won't regret.
