This topic has been already published and explained by several public and private services. But I thought to post from my own experience with more details. Basically, Data Mailbox allows you send and receive letters digitally to/from government offices/institutions and even companies, organizations which has Data Mailbox. This reduce cost of process and increase speed of communication. For example, you have to send copy of any document to Immigration office or get information about your current visa application, in case something is missing.
How to apply?
Download and fill Application form for individual person, click here. See example, click here
Go to any Post office where there are CzechPoint service.
Present Application form with your ID card or Passport or you can sent form to following address with notary authorized signature: Ministerstvo vnitra České republiky, nám. Hrdinů 1634/3, 140 21 Praha 4
Verifying CzechPoint person will type application form into the system and print it for your signature, to avoid hand writing. At the end you will be provided with application confirmation paper, which contains important information:
Few minutes later you should get email with same confirmation number in the subject (REF12345678)
Email will contain link to activation portal; open it and fill it as following example:
Once you submit it, system will provide Username and first login password (temporary) for Data Mailbox. YOU MUST COPY THESE TO SAFE PLACE, CAUSE ONCE YOU CLOSE IT, INFORMATION WILL BE LOST. THERE IS TIME AND ATTEMPT LIMIT.
Open Data Mailbox login page (https://www.mojedatovaschranka.cz) and login with Username and temporary password from previous step.
After logging in system will ask you to change temporary password
That's it, now you can login Data Mailbox with Username and new password. Please note that Username is for login system and Identity Number (ID) is for how to reach you.
IMPORTANT
Once you have enabled Data Mailbox, you muse use it. This will be the only source for communication with public institutions and offices. You cannot sent regular letter via post.
You are obliged check mailbox often or enable notification; email or text message.
When any office sends mail to you, it is delivered immediately and considered read after 10 days.
A mail will be deleted automatically after 3 months. To avoid it either subscription for paid service is needed or use desktop app to store data offline, click here.
It will be better to print out each mail delivery, for future resolutions as proof.
