Ahoj all,
If you like strawberries, spend joyful weekend and save money, then Strawberry picking is for you. You can get all necessary information from official web (click here) or Facebook page (click here) of the company which organizes it, but as I always I will share my own experience.
There are 2 farms located in Brno (out of 4); Slatina and Podolí, which is not so far from each other. But currently Slatina is open. But you have to check open dates on official page first, click here.
Bus number 78 departures from Stará Osada bus stop to directly Slatina farm, bus stop Malečkova. All covered by 100+101 zones, so you don't have to buy tickets, if you have monthly or annual ticket.
Once you arrive it will not be hard to understand to which way to go, there will be crowd of people. You can bring your own basket, container or whatever suits for you or purchase paper box from the farm (15 CZK). If you have your own basket, they will weigh your basket, so they can weigh it correctly once it filled with strawberries at the end. Follow the line of people and farm employees will point you, from where you can start to picking.
From first glance it seems that nothing left to pick, but once you bend and start looking for it, excitement starts.
Once you (believe) picked enough, go back to the entrance of farm, weigh and pay for it, Voila! Make jam, cocktail or just simple eat them.
By the time of this post, 1 kg of strawberries costed 65 CZK. And most important bring cash (mainly coins)!
