How to Authorize Power of Attorney

Ahoj All,

In this post I go through steps how to authorize power of attorney.
 
Example, if you wish to grant your spouse full rights on your behalf while you are away from home or unable to handle certain matters, you can do so by authorizing a power of attorney. This can be done indefinitely or for a specific period.

Here are the steps to follow:
 
Fill out the form, download from this link.

IMPORTANT: This power of attorney template contains following text: "to represent and act for me in full without any limitation on behalf of all legal acts except those required by law to have a special power of attorney." So, this power of attorney might not guarantee in all scenarios, despite it basically allows all actions. 

Once form filled make a reservation at any Czech Post office where Czech POINT is available.

• Download the Pošta Online app, link is here.
• Go to Reservation and select a branch office.
• Choose the service "Czech POINT."
• Select a date and time for your appointment.
• Fill in your personal information.
• Check your email address for a PIN Code and instructions. These will be provided in both Czech and English.

Once you and person, whom you are giving power, in Czech Postal office and employee asks about purpose of request, just say "Chceme ověřit naše podpisy", meaning "We want to verify our signatures". Fee would be 100 CZK (50 CZK per each persons sign authorization) and better have cash.
