UPDATED: January 2024

Ahoj all,

At the time of publishing this post, it might be already late to request tax domicile. As deadline for filling tax is in the end of March each year and tax domicile might take 2 or even 3 weeks to get. But tax domicile can be request any time of year, as you might need for many other reasons.

It is pretty simple and I will share my own experience as always.

First, find financial office for your residence address. From this link you can search for address and contact numbers of the offices. Simple put PO number and search, it will narrow down the result to the Finance Office.

You can either in person provide or post following documents:

  • Copy of passport.
  • Copy of rental agreement or proof of residency.
  • Copy of employment contract.
  • Filled Application for the issuance of a certificate of tax domicile. This form might differ, so you should ask it from financial office once you found out. Just ask them to email you. Click here for empty form or here for example form. Please note it has been provided by one specific financial office. DO NOT MISTAKE THEM.
  • Filled annex form to the previous application (click here to download). You need to fill mostly ANO/NE (YES/NO) answers from ZA OBDOBÍ part. You will need help someone who either speaks Czech or has experience.
  • Stamps (kolky) for 100 CZK as fee.

If you will send via post, then Registered letter (Doporučené psaní) is recommended, as you can track and ensure that it was delivered. See other post where I explain procedure, click here.

It will take 2 weeks (at least in my case) to deliver you certificate.

Also, once I found my financial office (via phone), I sent them e-letter via Databox (DATOVÁ SCHRÁNKA) and they contacted me with all necessary information. Databox is official e-communication with government institution. See my post about it, click here

Please note that all this steps and rules could be altered, so follow official publications also.

Thank you all for views.
