If you want to be freelancer as "side job" or even main job, you will need to get IČO. What is IČO?
A person's identification number (Identifikační Číslo Osoby) is a unique eight-digit identification number in the Czech Republic of a legal entity, a natural person doing business or an organisational unit of the state (source wikipedia)

First you will need consider following case:
- if you already have permanent residency, it means you have permanent address, in that case you don't need any any additional documents or papers, just biometric card (which has address on the rear side).
- if you have long-term residency, you might need proof of address.
Next step would be making reservation at Trade Office, Malinovského náměstí 3, Brno 60167, through following link: https://www.brno.cz/w/online-objednani-zu
If you do not speak Czech, no worries, they have English speaking stuff and specific reservation for it
That's it, they will submit your request and withing 1-2 days you will have Identity number. Fee is 1.000 CZK.
Please note once you will start your activity, you must inform insurance company, social service and tax authority. For that get contact (email) of staff during IČO request and email them about your actions. They will prepare proper digital papers and all you need send them to authorities online (via Data Mailbox, Datová schránka).
